Online Communications Intern

Online Communications Intern
The Center for Global Development (CGD) is currently accepting applications for a dynamic Online Communications Intern

Overview
The Online Communications Intern will work with Online Communications & Strategy Manager and related staff and interface regularly with the Center's staff on a variety of web-related tasks. This position would be an excellent opportunity for an individual with very basic web technical skills seeking to develop knowledge of and exposure to the broad range of online communication responsibilities in a vibrant non-profit think tank.

This is a part-time paid internship.

Responsibilities will vary according to the skills of the individual but will revolve around:

  • Assisting in regular website updates under the supervision of the Manager and/or Web Assistant
  • Assisting in the production and testing of e-newsletters under the supervision of the Manager and/or Web Assistant
  • Assisting with the daily implementation of various online social networking outreach tasks
  • Providing support to the Online Communications & Strategy Manager as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced professional work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills
  • Introductory knowledge of HTML
  • Exposure to Dreamweaver and Photoshop
  • Desire to learn new skills

Internships at CGD

The Center offers paid and unpaid internships to full-time undergraduate and graduate students.

Research assistant internships are offered to candidates with extensive training in econometrics, microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory and development economics. Interns must be familiar with issues related to development economics and policy analysis, and related topics. Prior experience with statistical packages such as STATA and Excel may be required.

Internships may also be offered to full-time undergraduate and graduate students to help facilitate the Center's communications work and program initiatives. Prior study and/or work experience in economics, public policy, international relations, national security issues, and global health may be required, along with outstanding communication and writing skills.

Intern applicants with prior relevant work experience will be given preference.
