The world is becoming increasingly interconnected as opportunities and challenges here in the U.S. and abroad tie Americans to the rest of the world in ways we are only beginning to understand. American foreign assistance programs have proven to be an influential aspect of U.S. engagement with the world in the past, but its foreign assistance policy was written in 1961. A lot has changed since then. Global Development Matters, a project by the Center for Global Development (CGD), has launched a new video and online petition calling on the next president to make modernizing foreign assistance a priority in the next administration. Join us for a lively breakfast discussion on the power of social media and online activism to effect policy change, as well as a screening of the new video.
